Lead Architect, Hardware Platform

Job Summary

Serving as the lead architect for the Hardware Platform, the full-time remote Lead Architect, Hardware Platform will own the end-to-end architecture, set the technical roadmap, and evaluate emerging technologies while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align hardware capabilities with database requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Own the architecture and technical roadmap for Teradata Hardware platforms, focusing on compute, memory, storage, and networking
• Act as design authority for future platform generations, making key trade-offs among performance, reliability, and cost
• Lead technical reviews and guide platform quality across the lifecycle, including design validation and system testing

Required qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 15+ years in hardware, systems, or platform architecture with a record of technical leadership
• Deep expertise in enterprise server architecture, including CPUs, memory, and networking
• Experience with distributed database platforms and understanding of hardware design impacts on performance
• Proven ability to architect and deliver multiple generations of enterprise hardware products
