Job Summary
To support a growing user base, the full-time Lead Backend Developer will manage the performance and reliability of the API, architect backend services, and mentor the backend team in a fully remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Own the performance, availability, and cost-efficiency of the API while planning and building out backend services
- Design future versions of the API and services, writing technical specs and overseeing code quality
- Lead the backend team by mentoring engineers, reviewing code, and ensuring high standards for deployment and testing
Required qualifications
- Deep expertise in backend development with experience in building and scaling high-traffic server-side APIs
- Working knowledge of AWS and experience with relational and non-relational data stores
- A track record of leading technical work, including system design and code reviews
- Strong communication skills to explain complex technical topics clearly to diverse audiences
- Experience in a fully remote, distributed team environment
