Lead Backup and Recovery Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the enterprise data protection strategy, the full-time Lead Backup and Recovery Engineer will coordinate activities related to data protection architecture across on-premises and cloud environments while working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain backup, retention, recovery, and data lifecycle standards aligned with business requirements
• Lead evaluation, selection, and implementation of enterprise backup and recovery platforms, including migrations and lifecycle management
• Serve as the technical authority during disaster recovery exercises, audits, and recovery events, ensuring compliance with governance and security controls

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on engineering experience with enterprise backup and recovery platforms in a lead or architect capacity
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Demonstrable experience leading enterprise-scale migrations of backup systems
• Proven ownership of data protection architecture across a large, heterogeneous estate
• Deep understanding of disaster recovery frameworks, RTO and RPO design, and DR testing methodologies
