Lead CFD Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Lead CFD Engineer, the full-time position will focus on leading computational fluid dynamics analysis to evaluate the aerodynamic and ballistic performance of advanced munitions, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead high-fidelity CFD analysis to characterize aerodynamic performance for various defense industry hardware
• Establish shared analysis standards and document procedures for CFD-based aerodynamic database development
• Validate CFD models against wind tunnel and flight test data, leading investigations into discrepancies

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 8+ years of experience in performing and leading CFD analysis in a product-centric environment
• Proficiency with aerospace/defense CFD solvers and meshing tools, such as CFD++, STAR-CCM+, and Pointwise
• Experience validating CFD results against wind tunnel or flight test data and working with real flight hardware
• Programming proficiency in Python or MATLAB for CFD automation and data reduction
