Lead Data Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the technical direction for a delivery pod, the full-time remote Lead Data Engineer will design and model data products on Voyager, ensuring compatibility and quality while actively writing and reviewing production code.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design of data products, including ingestion, cleansing, modeling, and consumption layers
• Own the pod's data contracts and ensure compatibility, managing breaking changes and enforcing quality standards
• Set engineering standards and conduct code reviews to maintain high-quality production pipelines and operational efficiency

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience considered
• 6+ years of experience building and operating production data pipelines and consumer-facing data models
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and SQL, along with Databricks or a comparable Spark-based lakehouse
• Deep experience in dimensional modeling, including keys, slowly changing dimensions, and conformed dimensions
• Demonstrated technical leadership in setting standards and guiding engineering practices
