Lead Data Engineer
Job Summary
Hands-on and detail-oriented, the full-time Lead Data Engineer will provide technical leadership for the design and development of scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and manage the architecture of the Snowflake data warehouse in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Own the technical direction and ongoing evolution of the Snowflake data warehouse, ensuring performance, scalability, security, and cost efficiency
- Lead the design and standardization of ETL/ELT pipelines, evolving towards Azure Data Factory
- Establish engineering standards for code quality, testing, documentation, and data quality while mentoring team members
Required qualifications
- Proven experience in data engineering, specifically with Snowflake and ETL/ELT processes
- Strong knowledge of dimensional data modeling and medallion architecture
- Experience with tools such as dbt and Azure Data Factory
- Ability to translate business data needs into technical solutions and roadmaps
- Experience in mentoring and providing technical guidance to team members
