Lead Data Engineer
Job Summary
To support advanced analytics and AI/ML initiatives, the full-time Lead Data Engineer will design, build, and operate data pipelines and platform components, collaborating closely with data analysts and engineering teams, and can work remotely or from designated locations.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines for the data warehouse and data lake
- Provide technical leadership to a team of data engineers, overseeing story definition, task planning, and code reviews
- Implement and optimize the Databricks Cloud Data Warehouse for performance, cost, scalability, and maintainability
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or the Big Data domain
- 2+ years of experience in a technical lead or senior engineer role, mentoring engineers
- Strong experience with Big Data technologies and cloud data warehouses such as Databricks or Snowflake
- Proficiency in SQL and Python (or another object-oriented language)
