Lead Data Scientist

Job Summary

To drive impactful media buying decisions, the full-time remote Lead Data Scientist will build and validate models for auto insurance carrier conversions and media spend, collaborating closely with the business and an ML engineer throughout the deployment process.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimize models that match auto insurance shoppers with the most suitable carriers based on conversion likelihood
• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of data science projects, from problem framing and data acquisition to model deployment and monitoring
• Implement automated marketplace bidding strategies and ensure production models adapt to market drift and changing objectives

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on applied data science experience with measurable business outcomes
• Proven track record of developing models that influence paid media decisions, including spend and bidding
• Strong expertise in Python and SQL, with a deep understanding of neural network fundamentals
• Experience handling late labels, sparse features, and data drift in model training
• Ability to independently source data and maintain a clear perspective throughout the model lifecycle
