Lead Data Scientist

Job Summary

Driving impactful data science initiatives, the full-time remote Lead Data Scientist will build and validate models for optimizing auto insurance carrier conversions and media spending while collaborating closely with business teams and an ML engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement models that match auto insurance shoppers with the most suitable carriers to enhance conversion rates
• Manage the production use of carrier conversion data to inform media buying strategies and optimize return on ad spend (ROAS)
• Frame business problems, source data, and oversee the deployment and monitoring of models, ensuring they adapt to market changes

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on applied data science experience with measurable business impact
• Proven track record of developing models that directly influence paid media decisions
• Strong understanding of neural networks, including loss functions and architecture choices
• Experience managing data challenges such as late labels, sparse features, and data drift
• Expertise in Python and SQL for data manipulation and model development
