Lead Data Scientist, Telematics

Job Summary

To support the Telematics Data Science team, the full-time Lead Data Scientist, Telematics will develop and maintain telematics pricing and underwriting models while also managing data engineering and production systems in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain telematics pricing and underwriting models, focusing on statistical modeling and machine learning techniques
• Build and maintain reliable data pipelines and datasets, ensuring data quality and system reliability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Engineering, Software Engineering, and Product Management to deliver measurable business outcomes

Required Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (PhD preferred) and/or 5+ years of relevant industry experience
• Strong knowledge of statistical modeling and machine learning methods, including GLMs and tree-based models
• Proficiency in Python and SQL with experience in building production-quality data pipelines
• Experience with version control, automated testing, and cloud-based data systems
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues across data and application layers
