Lead Design Engineer

Job Summary

As a remote Lead Design Engineer, the successful candidate will develop core system components and design systems, ensuring high-quality AI design and code generation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance user experience across web and mobile applications.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and govern core system components and design patterns to enhance AI design and code generation
• Ensure system decisions translate cleanly into code, maintaining shared ownership of quality and performance
• Collaborate with designers and engineers to integrate feedback and usage data into future developments

Required qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in design engineering, design systems, product design, or front-end engineering
• Proven experience in shipping design systems or component libraries, accompanied by a portfolio or case studies
• Strong interaction and visual design skills, with knowledge of design tokens, theming, and accessibility standards
• Familiarity with AI tools and their integration into design systems
• Experience collaborating with designers, engineers, and product managers on short cycles
