Lead Employment Counsel

Job Summary

Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the full-time Lead Employment Counsel will serve as the primary legal advisor for the People team and business leaders, managing employment policies, advising on employee relations, and overseeing litigation matters, all while working remotely from anywhere in the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the People team on employee relations, performance management, and compliance with wage and hour laws
• Draft and maintain employment documents and policies, ensuring alignment with legal requirements
• Conduct workplace investigations and manage employment litigation with outside counsel

Required qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one US state bar
• 7+ years of labor and employment law experience, preferably in-house
• Deep knowledge of US federal and multi-state employment law
• Experience managing employment litigation and advising on international employment matters
• Proficiency in using AI tools in legal contexts while ensuring data protection and ethical considerations
