Lead Engineer, AI Quality
Job Summary
To support the AI Quality engineering team, the full-time Lead Engineer, AI Quality will build evaluation frameworks, manage observability tooling, and lead the team in diagnosing and improving the quality of AI-powered features in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Build and own the evaluation infrastructure, including CI/CD pipelines, scorers, and datasets for AI agents
- Diagnose quality breakdowns across the agent pipeline and prototype solutions or identify priorities for improvement
- Lead and grow the AI Quality engineering team while staying hands-on in coding and technical direction
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in building and shipping production software, particularly with LLM-powered agents
- Proficiency in Ruby on Rails and Python, or the ability to learn quickly
- Experience in building evaluation or observability infrastructure for ML/AI systems
- Knowledge of designing datasets and annotation workflows for ML/AI evaluation
- Strong alignment with company values and proficiency in English at CEFR Level C2 / ILR Level 5
