Lead Engineer, Order Management

Job Summary

As a hands-on technical leader, the full-time remote Lead Engineer, Order Management will set the technical direction for systems powering checkout, order creation, and fulfillment orchestration while managing complex initiatives from discovery through delivery.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead complex, multi-sprint Order Management initiatives, owning outcomes and driving execution through ambiguity
• Design and build reliable services and workflows across order lifecycle management and partner integrations, focusing on correctness and scalability
• Drive technical decisions by evaluating options and balancing near-term delivery with long-term maintainability and system simplification

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with complex backend or workflow systems
• Fluency in at least one modern programming language, such as Go, Ruby, Java, or Python
• Strong experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL and operating services on a major cloud platform
• Track record of independently leading complex initiatives from discovery and design through launch and operational follow-through
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
