Job Summary
Leading the development of real-time control firmware for power conversion systems, the full-time salaried Lead Firmware Engineer will implement control loops and compensators for bidirectional DC/DC converters while collaborating closely with the Lead Controls Engineer in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Implement real-time control loops and compensators in C, ensuring adherence to fixed cycle budgets and control specifications
- Verify firmware implementations against control models through closed-loop simulations and performance measurements
- Architect and maintain the control ISR and scheduler, ensuring deterministic timing and documented worst-case execution times
Required qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated capability
- Six or more years of experience developing production embedded firmware in C for resource-constrained real-time systems
- Experience with production control firmware on switched-mode power converters or inverters
- Strong understanding of control fundamentals, including PID and discretization basics
- Proficiency with digital power peripherals such as high-resolution PWM and ADCs
