Lead Information Security Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time Lead Information Security Engineer will respond to and mitigate cybersecurity threats, proactively identify risks, and strengthen defenses while collaborating with internal teams to enhance security capabilities.
Key responsibilities
- Respond to, remediate, and document information security incidents, including alerts and tickets
- Actively hunt for insecure, suspicious, or malicious activity within the enterprise
- Provide feedback for the development of automated threat detection mechanisms and maintain response guides
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong understanding of security fundamentals, including host/network hardening and risk management
- Relevant certifications (or willingness to obtain), such as Security+, CEH, or CISSP
- Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- U.S.-based and able to obtain government suitability
