Job Summary

Shaping the future of AI, the full-time Lead Machine Learning Engineer will build and refine pipelines for LLM fine-tuning and distillation, directly impacting how organizations capture and utilize their data, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Capture and store LLM call data with context, feedback, and retention rules
• Develop a model quality evaluation system to ensure trust in promoted models
• Conduct supervised fine-tuning and distillation of open-weight models using rented GPUs

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in production LLM systems
• Hands-on experience with fine-tuning open-weight models and knowledge of when to use smaller base models
• Experience in generating and curating training sets through distillation or synthetic-data work
• Proficiency in building evaluation harnesses for LLM outputs
• Experience serving open models in production environments with vLLM or similar engines
