Lead MDAO Engineer

Job Summary

To lead multidisciplinary design, analysis, and optimization efforts, the full-time Lead MDAO Engineer will manage vehicle-level trade studies and optimization frameworks for air-launched effects and next-generation munitions, collaborating closely with various engineering disciplines in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead MDAO efforts integrating aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, and trajectory models into unified vehicle-level trade studies
• Establish shared MDAO methods and document procedures for vehicle-level sizing and design optimization
• Develop automated workflows that streamline multidisciplinary design data and enhance collaboration among engineering teams

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field; Master's degree preferred
• 10+ years of experience in multidisciplinary design, analysis, and optimization within a program-driven environment
• Demonstrable experience with MDAO efforts that have successfully transitioned to real hardware
• Proficiency in programming or scripting (Python, MATLAB, etc.) for MDAO automation and data processing
• Familiarity with multidisciplinary design optimization frameworks and integration of analysis across various engineering tools
