Lead Medical Billing Specialist

Job Summary

To support the revenue cycle team, the full-time Lead Medical Billing Specialist will manage billing processes, serve as a proxy for the department manager, and coordinate training for new and existing caregivers in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the onboarding and ongoing training of caregivers, ensuring compliance with payer guidelines and billing practices
• Act as a subject matter expert, resolving complex billing issues and collaborating with various departments to enhance processes
• Conduct quality reviews and provide mentorship to the Medical Billing Team, while participating in productivity and quality program standards

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred
• 4 years of non-clinical healthcare experience, preferably in revenue cycle
• Previous leadership experience highly preferred
• Knowledge of hospital and professional billing compliance and payer guidelines
• Experience with process improvement and training development
