Lead Medical Billing Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare team, the full-time Lead Medical Billing Specialist will oversee billing processes, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with regulations while working remotely from designated states.

Key responsibilities

• Acts as a proxy for the department manager, coordinating productivity and quality programs, and mentoring the Medical Billing Team
• Designs and implements onboarding and ongoing training programs for new and existing caregivers, ensuring adherence to billing compliance and payer guidelines
• Collaborates with various departments to analyze and resolve complex billing issues, providing extensive review and analysis of claims

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred
• Four years of non-clinical healthcare experience, preferably in revenue cycle, is preferred
• Previous leadership experience is highly preferred
• Knowledge of hospital and professional billing compliance and payer guidelines
• Proficiency in researching and resolving complex billing questions and discrepancies
