Job Summary
Acting as the team's primary subject matter expert, the full-time Lead Policy Analyst will track and interpret K-12 policy trends, manage legislative monitoring, and translate findings into strategic recommendations, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the primary analytical resource for K-12 policy trends, synthesizing intelligence across various levels and contributing to the organization's perspective on instructional materials
- Own the tracking of state and local legislation, identifying emerging policy trends and providing analytical context and implications for the organization
- Lead projects that analyze how legislative mandates influence policy actions, developing accessible findings aligned with the organization's strategic priorities
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in K-12 policy, applied research, or a related discipline
- Proven ability to independently drive research projects from problem framing to strategic recommendations
- Strong command of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies with the ability to synthesize complex findings
- Deep familiarity with state and local policy development processes, including legislative tracking
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in public policy or education policy preferred
