Lead Scientific Programmer

Job Summary

Seeking a creative problem-solver, the full-time remote Lead Scientific Programmer will manage the development of new modeling capabilities for GoldSim, focusing on numerical solutions and algorithms while collaborating with the software engineering team and supporting customer needs.

Key responsibilities

• Own the numerical solutions and algorithms of GoldSim's simulation engine, from theoretical design to C++ implementation
• Build and verify GoldSim models to validate algorithms and support customer requirements
• Document numerical methods and collaborate with the engineering team to integrate new capabilities into the platform

Required qualifications

• Masters or PhD in science or engineering with strong academic performance
• Extensive experience with applied math and numerical methods relevant to engineering problems
• Proficient in C++ programming, preferably in scientific or engineering contexts
• Background in earth sciences or civil engineering, particularly in contaminant transport modeling
• Experience with AI/ML techniques and familiarity with data science tools such as MATLAB or R is a plus
