Lead Software Engineer
Job Summary
Leading an established engineering team, the contract-to-hire Lead Software Engineer will manage the modernization of an enterprise Document Management Platform by migrating Java workloads from IBM WebSphere to containerized environments and transitioning Axway managed file transfer processes, all while ensuring seamless cutover and operational continuity in a remote setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations of the engineering team, overseeing delivery plans and cutover sequencing for modernization programs
- Migrate Java workloads to containerized runtimes on OpenShift and catalog file flows onto a new ingestion service on AWS
- Design and implement hybrid OpenShift and AWS patterns, ensuring resilience for critical flows and integrating with various systems
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including technical leadership for business-critical production systems
- Experience leading a platform retirement or major migration from start to finish
- Deep expertise in Java and hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere and migration to Spring Boot or similar frameworks
- Managed file transfer experience with Axway SecureTransport/B2Bi or comparable systems
- Production experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes and hands-on AWS knowledge
