Lead Software Engineer
Job Summary
Experienced software engineers will find a full-time remote opportunity as a Lead Software Engineer focused on designing, building, and maintaining core components of SpacetimeDB, while also engaging with the developer community and resolving database issues.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain core components of SpacetimeDB, addressing bugs and performance issues
- Engage with the SpacetimeDB developer community and provide direct support to users and customers
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and set expectations for AI tooling usage within the team
Required qualifications
- Expert-level proficiency in Rust and Cargo, with a deep understanding of ownership and memory allocation
- Solid knowledge of database internals, including MVCC, transactions, and storage engines
- Experience with concurrency and systems-level problems such as deadlocks and I/O issues
- Strong understanding of Linux internals and their impact on user programs and disk I/O
- Proficiency with Git, GitHub, and rigorous code review practices
