Job Summary
To support the development of online courses, the part-time contract Learning Designer will partner with faculty to create detailed course designs, manage course builds from storyboard to launch, and ensure alignment with quality standards in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Learning Architect to translate program goals into comprehensive course designs
- Lead sessions with faculty to define learning outcomes and develop engaging activities and assessments
- Write and edit course content while ensuring accessibility and adherence to quality standards
Required qualifications
- 6+ years of instructional or learning design experience, primarily in higher education online programs
- A portfolio of online courses designed from start to finish, preferably for graduate or professional programs
- Experience collaborating with faculty and guiding them in effective design decisions
- Strong knowledge of backward design, outcomes alignment, and assessment design
- Proficiency in learning management systems, with a preference for Canvas
