Job Summary
Providing remote legal translation and editing services, the freelance English-to-Chinese (Simplified and/or Traditional) Legal Translator and/or Editor will deliver high-quality work on an as-needed basis, focusing on legal documentation with strong accuracy in terminology.
Key responsibilities
- Translate and edit legal documents between English and Chinese (Simplified and/or Traditional)
- Ensure accuracy and adherence to legal terminology and standards
- Manage assignments effectively to meet deadlines and client expectations
Required qualifications
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in legal translation and/or editing
- Native-level proficiency in Chinese and English writing skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. legal and judicial terminology
- Bachelor's degree in a foreign language, linguistics, translation, or a related field
- Experience with computer-assisted translation tools, preferably Trados
