Legal Compliance Manager

Job Summary

Taking ownership of a comprehensive compliance program, the full-time Legal Compliance Manager will enhance existing policies, oversee state regulatory requirements, and ensure tax compliance while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and mature the compliance program across multiple entities, including policies, training, and internal audits
• Oversee state regulatory and licensing requirements, ensuring compliance and audit readiness
• Collaborate with finance and technology teams to integrate legal and compliance requirements into digital platform features

Required qualifications

• 6-8 years of compliance experience within the insurance industry, particularly in insurtech or wholesale brokerage
• Strong understanding of accounting principles related to insurance distribution, with a preference for candidates with an accounting degree or CPA
• Hands-on experience with surplus lines premium tax and multi-state filings
• Proven ability to operate and mature a compliance program as an owner or key contributor
• Familiarity with privacy compliance under GLBA and state privacy laws is preferred
