Legal Translator and Editor
Job Summary
Seeking a qualified freelance English-to-Chinese (Simplified and/or Traditional) Legal Translator and/or Editor, this remote contract position will provide ongoing translation and editing services for legal documentation, requiring strong legal terminology skills and the ability to deliver high-quality work.
Key responsibilities
- Translate and edit legal documents from English to Chinese (Simplified and/or Traditional)
- Ensure accuracy and adherence to legal terminology and standards
- Manage assignments remotely, meeting deadlines and client expectations
Required qualifications
- A minimum of three years of professional experience in legal translation and/or editing
- Native-level proficiency in both Chinese and English writing
- Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. legal and judicial terminology
- Bachelor's degree in a foreign language, linguistics, translation, or a related field
- Experience with computer-assisted translation tools, preferably Trados
