Licensed Behavioral Health Care Manager
Job Summary
Working remotely, the Licensed Behavioral Health Care Manager will manage the authorization and review of mental health and substance abuse services, assist with care coordination and discharge planning, and provide member support while participating in quality improvement projects.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor inpatient and outpatient services for medical necessity and effectiveness
- Provide telephone triage, crisis intervention, and emergency authorizations as needed
- Develop and implement discharge plans in collaboration with providers and facilities
Required qualifications
- Current licensure as CEAP, LMSW, LCSW, LSW, LPC, or RN
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or substance abuse settings
- Knowledge of utilization management procedures and community resources for mental health and substance abuse
- Experience in inpatient and outpatient settings
- Understanding of DSM V or the most current diagnostic edition
