Job Summary
Supporting utilization management efforts, the full-time Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician will perform clinical reviews and assessments related to mental health and substance abuse, ensuring the appropriateness of care while working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluates treatment for mental health and substance abuse to ensure medical appropriateness before, during, and after services
- Conducts prior authorization and concurrent reviews for behavioral health inpatient services, determining treatment needs and discharge planning
- Analyzes member data to enhance quality and appropriate utilization of services while providing education to providers and families regarding the utilization process
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field required
- Independent licensure as a behavioral health clinician (e.g., LCSW, LMHC, LPC, LMFT, LMHP, or RN) required
- 2-4 years of experience in mental health settings, particularly outpatient and residential treatment services
- Experience in utilization management and presenting to leadership or providers
- Clinical knowledge related to treatment plans for mental health and substance abuse preferred
