Licensed Counsel
Job Summary
Providing legal support for specialty distribution insurance operations, the full-time remote Counsel will assist with regulatory, contract, and governance matters while collaborating with various business units to mitigate risk and enable growth.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Chief Counsel with legal matters supporting wholesale, programs, and specialty divisions
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts, including insurance distribution agreements and related commercial contracts
- Research and monitor applicable insurance laws and regulations impacting the supported businesses
Required qualifications
- Active license to practice law and member in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- At least 7 years of legal experience focused on corporate and transactional matters, with 3-5 years in-house at an insurance carrier or related firm
- Strong knowledge of U.S. admitted and E&S market regulation
- Ability to work independently and partner effectively with business leaders in a fast-paced environment
