Job Summary
Assisting with coding audits and providing targeted education, the full-time Licensed Laboratory Coding Auditor will support Laboratory leadership in ensuring compliance and accurate code assignment while working remotely on a Monday-Friday schedule.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct coding audits for Laboratory Coding & Billing Representatives and Pathologists, focusing on CPT, HCPCS, modifiers, and place of service coding
- Provide one-on-one and group education to team members and Pathologists regarding coding practices
- Compile and track audit statistics while serving as a senior coding resource for the department
Required qualifications
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification from AHIMA
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification from AAPC
- Experience in laboratory coding and billing practices
- Ability to interpret and analyze billing data for performance monitoring
- Knowledge of current coding regulations and compliance requirements
