Licensed Legal Counsel - Life Insurance

Job Summary

Seeking multiple Licensed Legal Counsel - Life Insurance on a temporary contract basis, the role will provide legal support across various projects remotely, focusing on commercial contracts, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance for a duration of at least three months, with potential for extension.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on commercial contracts, corporate transactions, governance, litigation, and compliance issues
• Draft, review, and negotiate vendor and distribution agreements
• Manage litigation and disputes, including strategy development and oversight of outside counsel

Required qualifications

• Experience as a lawyer in the life insurance, annuity, or broker/dealer industry
• Strong knowledge of marketing, sales practices, and product development related to life insurance products
• J.D. from an accredited law school and admittance to at least one state bar, preferably NY, TX, or CA
• Prior experience in a large multinational law firm or in-house legal department
• Ability to work full-time, with no outside practice commitments
