Licensed Oncology Social Worker

Job Summary

Offering a remote opportunity, the Licensed Oncology Social Worker will provide comprehensive psychosocial and emotional support to patients and their families during their cancer journey, conducting assessments, connecting them with resources, and collaborating with healthcare teams.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify and address emotional and social needs of patients and families
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care and address barriers impacting treatment adherence
• Advocate for patients' needs with insurance companies and healthcare providers to access necessary services

Required qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program
• Valid and current master's level license in the practice state (LMSW, LISW, LCSW)
• Preferred certifications: OSW-C or APHSW-C
• Minimum three to five years of experience as a social worker in a healthcare setting, preferably in oncology or palliative care
• Experience with technology and virtual communication platforms is essential
