Job Summary
Supporting the design of high-voltage substations, the full-time Licensed Substation Design Engineer will serve as a technical subject matter expert, develop innovative engineering solutions, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, with the option to work remotely or in a hybrid schedule from various U.S. locations.
Key responsibilities
- Design power utility substations, including general arrangements, equipment layouts, and grounding plans, ensuring compliance with applicable codes
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to resolve technical issues and ensure successful project execution
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers, reviewing calculations and design packages for quality and compliance
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
- 4-7 years of experience in substation physical design engineering
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong document management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
