Job Summary
Seeking a full-time remote Life Insurance Quality Engineer specializing in underwriting, this role will manage test strategies for underwriting decisioning, validate rules engine behavior, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy in underwriting processes.
Key responsibilities
- Own test strategy and quality signal for underwriting decisioning, including rules changes and risk classification
- Design test scenarios that reflect real underwriting complexity and validate rules engine behavior across releases
- Translate underwriting requirements into testable acceptance criteria with stakeholders before code development
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in life insurance, particularly in underwriting operations or systems analysis
- Fluency with underwriting evidence and processes, including MIB and APS handling
- Hands-on experience with at least one underwriting rules engine or decisioning platform
- Strong SQL skills for verifying data outcomes independently
- Experience writing structured test cases or acceptance criteria and defending quality judgments
