Life Underwriting Consultant
Job Summary
Seeking experienced Life Underwriting Consultants for a temporary, remote position, responsible for evaluating life insurance applications, determining evidence requirements, and delivering accurate underwriting decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate life insurance applications using various evidence sources, including EHRs, APS, and prescription histories
- Independently determine and order additional evidence needed to complete underwriting decisions
- Render underwriting decisions for face amounts up to $2M-$3M while maintaining accurate documentation and collaborating with teams for timely case progression
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of life insurance underwriting experience in traditional and/or accelerated environments
- Recent experience with accelerated underwriting
- Strong proficiency in interpreting EHRs, APS, and LifeScore evidence
- Demonstrated ability to independently assess evidence requirements and make sound underwriting decisions
- Experience with policies having face amounts up to $2M-$3M and a strong understanding of mortality risk assessment
