Job Summary
To assess complex mortality risks, the full-time Life Underwriting Consultant will review individual life insurance applications, determine risk acceptance, and collaborate with senior underwriters while working in a hybrid telecommuting environment.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate applicant medical histories and financial backgrounds to make informed underwriting decisions
- Collaborate with senior underwriting staff on complex cases and represent the underwriting function in inter-departmental projects
- Communicate adverse underwriting decisions to agents while maintaining positive agency relationships
Required qualifications
- 7-10 years of relevant underwriting experience
- Strong technical and financial underwriting skills
