Job Summary

Leading a team of underwriters in a fully remote environment, the Life Underwriting Manager will provide expert judgment on complex cases, oversee adjudication processes, and promote the use of analytics and modern tools to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert oversight on complex and escalated underwriting cases, ensuring adherence to guidelines and mortality objectives
• Lead and develop a team of underwriters, managing daily priorities and ensuring quality and service-level adherence
• Leverage analytics to track performance metrics and implement targeted improvements in underwriting processes

Required qualifications

• Extensive life underwriting expertise with authority to adjudicate complex, high-value cases
• Minimum of 5 years of life underwriting experience, demonstrating leadership in managing complex case decisions
• Working knowledge of automated underwriting platforms and quality control processes
• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to collaborate with reinsurers and vendors
