Linux Systems Engineer
Job Summary
To support the development and maintenance of preconfigured software environments on cloud-based virtual machines, a remote Linux Systems Engineer will manage software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting while ensuring compatibility with new software releases.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain and update existing software deployment environments for compatibility with new software releases
- Develop and configure new preconfigured software environments for various applications and services
- Troubleshoot installation, deployment, configuration, and runtime issues while preparing and maintaining scripts
Required qualifications:
- Experience with Linux system administration and troubleshooting
- Proficient in installing, configuring, updating, and maintaining software in Linux environments
- Bash/Shell scripting skills
- Good understanding of Linux services, processes, packages, dependencies, and configuration files
- Ability to independently investigate unfamiliar software and technologies using technical documentation
