Job Summary
To support mental health and substance abuse services in Louisiana, the remote Louisiana Licensed Care Manager will authorize and review utilization of care, assist with discharge planning, and provide member assistance while collaborating with the clinical team.
Key responsibilities
- Monitors inpatient and outpatient services to ensure medical necessity and effectiveness
- Provides telephone triage, crisis intervention, and conducts concurrent reviews for various levels of care
- Develops and oversees implementation of discharge plans in collaboration with providers and facilities
Required qualifications
- Current Louisiana licensure as CEAP, LMSW, LCSW, LSW, LPC, or RN
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or substance abuse settings
- Knowledge of utilization management procedures and community resources for mental health and substance abuse
- Experience in inpatient and outpatient settings, with familiarity in DSM V
- Ability to analyze utilization problems and implement solutions to enhance quality of care
