Louisiana Licensed Utilization Review Clinician
Job Summary
To support mental health and substance abuse care, the full-time Louisiana Licensed Utilization Review Clinician will perform clinical reviews, assess treatment appropriateness, and conduct prior authorization reviews, all while working remotely within designated schedules of Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluates members' treatment for mental health and substance abuse to ensure medical appropriateness
- Performs prior authorization and concurrent reviews related to behavioral health services
- Provides education to providers, members, and families regarding the behavioral health utilization process
Required qualifications
- Master's degree for behavioral health clinicians required
- Active, unrestricted Louisiana license as LCSW, LMHC, LPC, LMFT, LMHP, or RN
- 2-4 years of related experience in mental health and substance abuse
- Clinical knowledge of treatment plans related to mental health and substance abuse preferred
- Experience working with healthcare teams to review care services preferred
