Lusophone Africa Researcher
Job Summary
To assist in the collection, review, and management of political violence and protest data across Lusophone Africa, the part-time independent consultant Lusophone Africa Researcher will focus on coding events and ensuring data quality while working remotely for a minimum of 10 to 15 hours per week.
Key responsibilities
- Collect and code data on political violence and protests from various sources, including news and NGO reports
- Review and ensure the quality, consistency, and reliability of the data produced
- Participate in extensive training and deliver high-quality work to maintain consultancy status
Required qualifications
- University degree in international relations, political science, conflict studies, peacebuilding, international development, or a related field
- Fluency in Portuguese and English
- Familiarity with Excel
- Experience conducting desk-based research
- Knowledge of conflict and actors in the relevant countries is an advantage
