Job Summary
To develop and deploy behavior models for autonomous trucks, the remote Machine Learning Engineer II will focus on building, validating, and improving machine learning models and infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance decision-making capabilities in real-world freight operations.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and train machine learning models for learned behavior systems, utilizing techniques such as behavior cloning and reinforcement learning
- Implement production-quality ML code for model training, evaluation, and inference within the autonomy stack
- Analyze model performance and propose improvements to enhance robustness and generalization across diverse scenarios
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field with 4+ years of industry experience, or a Master's degree with 2+ years of experience
- Experience applying machine learning techniques like imitation learning or reinforcement learning to robotics or autonomous systems
- Strong programming skills in Python and PyTorch, with a focus on production-quality ML code
- Experience training and evaluating machine learning models using large datasets and scalable compute environments
- Understanding of ML architectures used in autonomy systems, such as transformers or graph neural networks
