Job Summary

Leading a multidisciplinary team of machine learning, data, and backend engineers, the full-time Machine Learning Engineering Manager will provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and represent the team with cross-functional stakeholders while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers, fostering autonomy and providing mentorship as needed
• Provide technical leadership on complex ML systems, engaging in modeling strategy and implementation to guide decision-making
• Represent the team with cross-functional stakeholders, balancing technical concerns with business needs

Required qualifications

• Experience managing engineers and a proven track record of developing technical individual contributors
• Solid background in machine learning with the ability to engage in technical discussions and assess strategies
• Comfortable operating in a dynamic environment with evolving product and business needs
• Ability to build trust with engineers by providing autonomy while remaining involved in their work
• Familiarity with AI tools and a perspective on improving engineering effectiveness through AI
