Machine Learning Staff Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the architecture and hands-on development of machine learning and data infrastructure, the full-time salaried Machine Learning Staff Engineer will enhance risk and fraud prevention systems by optimizing model performance and building scalable data foundations, while working in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Improve model inference latency, throughput, and resource utilization while ensuring model quality
• Build reusable infrastructure for model packaging, deployment, and monitoring across cloud platforms
• Design and optimize offline data pipelines using Databricks and Apache Spark for efficient data processing

Required qualifications

• Proven experience in building and operating large-scale distributed systems or ML infrastructure
• Hands-on experience in optimizing production model performance with measurable improvements
• Deep understanding of Databricks and Spark, including distributed query optimization and data correctness
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and at least one backend or systems programming language
• Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into clear architecture and deliver maintainable systems
