Job Summary
To support healthcare operations, the part-time Maine Licensed Medical Coder will identify appropriate CPT-4 assignments for inpatient professional services, abstract data during chart reviews, and maintain coding standards while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Identify and assign CPT-4 codes and modifiers for inpatient services in a hospital setting
- Abstract additional data elements during the coding process as necessary
- Provide documentation feedback to providers and maintain coding quality and productivity standards
Required qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Current coding credentials from AHIMA or AAPC (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC)
- 5+ years of coding experience
- 2+ years of experience with Hospitalist and Intensivist coding
- Intermediate proficiency with Windows, MS Excel, and EMR/billing systems
