Job Summary
To support K-12 students with learning differences, the part-time Maine Licensed Special Education Teacher will deliver specially designed instruction, manage IEPs, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legally compliant, specially designed instruction and compensatory education services to students with active IEPs
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans targeting critical skill areas such as reading, math, and executive functioning
- Manage the creation and ongoing progress monitoring of student IEPs while collaborating with the IEP team to tailor instructional approaches
Required qualifications
- Active Special Education teaching license/certification in Maine
- Experience in school-based settings providing specially designed instruction for diverse student populations
- Proficiency in conducting virtual services using meeting platforms and instructional technology
- Exceptional collaborative communication skills for engaging with IEP teams, including teachers, parents, and students
- Ability to maintain a dedicated, private workspace with a secure, high-speed internet connection
