Mainframe DB2 Systems Programmer
Job Summary
Providing premium DB2 sysprog support, the full-time remote Mainframe DB2 Systems Programmer will perform database software upgrades, administration, and tuning, while ensuring timely solutions to database problems and fulfilling customer service orders for mainframe z/OS clients.
Key responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day database maintenance, including backups, restores, and monitoring file growth
- Provide primary support for DB2 tables spaces and assist in customer migration services
- Execute tasks associated with disaster recovery plans in collaboration with Disaster Recovery Services
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of professional experience in DB2 administration and systems programming support
- Experience with configuring and managing DB2 in a parallel sysplex environment
- Knowledge of SMP/e and best practices in software management and documentation
- Experience with DB2 security management and troubleshooting production database issues
