Mainframe Developer
Job Summary
To support critical claims processing operations, the full-time remote Mainframe Developer will lead the design, coding, and debugging of enhancements within a legacy mainframe environment, focusing on COBOL, JCL, VSAM, IDz, and CICS while mentoring junior team members.
Key responsibilities
- Lead design, coding, unit testing, and debugging of enhancements to the health claims processing system
- Contribute to a persistent development team, guiding maintenance and operational stability
- Conduct client product demonstrations and mentor junior developers on best practices and technical solutions
Required qualifications
- Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and CICS
- Experience with Eclipse (IDz/RDz) and mainframe development within the last two years
- Industry experience in insurance or healthcare claims processing
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with at least 9 years of mainframe development experience
- U.S. Citizenship or Green Card and ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance
